How do I know what my grade is?
or
When do I get my grade?
1.  HOW TO FIND OUT THE GRADE/SCORE on an assignment, or overall grade:  Teachers at Mt Everest Academy use the PowerSchool online grading program.  You will be able to enter the computer program anytime to see what scores have been earned for assignments, as well as overall grade. I send emails with a feature
2.  WHEN to find out the grade/score depends on the assignment.
  • Monthly/weekly turn-in work packets:  About One week from the turn-in day.
  • Monthly/weekly tests/quizzes taken on time: One week after the testing period ends (so by Friday of the first week in the next month).
  • If a test is taken as a late test or make-up (late test = 20% penalty), then the test will be graded when I get to it...it goes to the bottom of the priority list.  Usually I still score such tests relatively quickly (within one to three days), but it might be a week or so.  It depends primarily on how busy that week is.

Late Work Submission / Exam Date
1. You must talk to me about a week before the original due/exam date about any homework accommodations/extensions, or taking an exam on a different date, if you don't want to your work or exam score to be penalized (-20% score).
  • You and/or your parent must verify and talk to me personally to work out details on why you're having to turn in work late at the latest, a WEEK ahead of time.
  • You CANNOT email me the day of the exam to tell me at the last minute that you simply weren't ready or have another engagement I didn't know about, unless you're willing to take the 20% late penalty to take the exam on a different day. That's simply not fair to your peers who were given the same deadlines and expectations from me.
  • If your situation is fairly unique it must be something myself, other staff, members, and our counselor, Aaron Rubin were well aware of and have communicated in the past with you and your family about.

2. LATE Turn-in Policy (if you're not excused):
  • You can only turn in late work up to ONE MONTH OLD with a late penalty (-20%)
  • If you need some sort of extension for older work, you need to come to me and our counselor well before the deadline of the work you're inquiring about, with parental verification and input for why it is you need a potential extension of time to finish any work that will be turned in late
